Background:
An Advisory Committee of sustainable-focus people, led by Zero Waste Capital District, www.zerowastecd.org/capital-district-reuse , is working on getting a ReUse Center somewhere in the Capital Region. This Center would be similar to the ReUse Center in Ithaca, NY ithacareuse.org/ . The Center would be a place where clothes, electronic, household goods, and appliances could be donated, restored, and sold back to the community.
To assist this initiative, stakeholder meetings have been held in the region to help spread information on what a ReUse center is, discuss how it works in Ithaca, how one would benefit the Capital Region, and to gather the community's input and see where their needs are.
The goal is to build a Community ReUse Center where maximizing reuse of materials is a priority. The aim is for everyone in the community to enjoy and partake in the services offered by the Center.
