Local Solid Waste Management Plan
Background
The purpose of the Columbia County Local Solid Waste Management Plan (LSWMP) is to identify the path to be pursued for managing solid waste generated in Columbia County during a ten-year planning period in an economical and environmentally sound manner that is consistent with the State's solid waste management policy. The LSWMP is intended to evaluate the current solid waste practices, evaluate the options and alternatives available for future solid waste management, and to set forth implementation steps for a 10-year planning period along with establishing projections of reduction in waste disposal over the 10-year plan.
The Columbia County Solid Waste Division is responsible for administering the LSWMP.
