BAGS & PUNCH CARDS:

Columbia County participates in a user fee system at our solid waste facilities. This program attaches a value to the garbage that we bring to the stations.

Residents disposing of household garbage must purchase an  official Columbia County waste bag to dispose of their garbage at the Solid Waste stations. These bags may be purchased at any of our stations by check or money order, made payable to The Columbia County Treasurer.

Punch cards are to be used for miscellaneous per item charges that are not bagged.  All bagged trash must be in County logo garbage bags, unless utilizing the scale at the Greenport Transfer Station.

Please Note: Cash is not accepted at any station

The Greenport Transfer Station Administrative Office accepts credit/debit card payments (a 2.35% surcharge is added). The Administrative Office is NOT OPEN on Saturdays.
